Yup, they’re everywhere. All lovingly restored and kept in exquisite condition. And it only costs you one piece of litter to ride them. And they have everything labeled by cartoonist Johnny Hart, who wrote B.C. (Broome County) when he was alive. Park signs, public buses, the AAA ballpark and ice hockey rink ...It’s cute.
And it’s the birthplace of IBM ... which was a huge reason to live there once upon a time if you were a computer geek or an engineer ... very low cost of living too, plus good hospitals, shopping, schools ... it’s a great place. But the weather is God Awful.
That’s no lie! I spent a little school-time there myself. When it rained, that’s every day, you couldn’t take two steps without squashing a dozen earthworms. We were wondering if maybe we could skin them and make coats out of them.
Cheer up - you could be under the 10+ inches of snow now covering us - I could shove the cat out the back door on the deck and lose him until spring - which they are predicting will be on Wednesday - it is suppose to break 50 degrees! BTW the OH river is already - inches away from flood stage - can we say flood when this stuff melts instantly? And the spring rains are on the way. Did I tell you we have a small weep into our basement? - I expect having another 3grand basement bill again this year to ‘repair’ this little ‘problem’ - at the very least.
So what are they going to call this Global Wetting?!?
