The funny thing about all the “high tech” stuff on this and other boats is that once its installed it is obsoleted by the newest tech the came along while it was developed.
Which explains why all those old B52s and Chinook helicopters, most of them built before I was born, not only are still flying but have had so many upgrades that those exceed the cost of the original machine 10 times over. I’m sure the same goes for the Navy, so every ship is in a perpetual state of improvement/renovation.
Sailors say that a boat is a bottomless hole in the water that you have to fill with money. Seems to be accurate!
