  1. Hey BBC! Why not try this line of reasoning (called ‘straight-line’) with your stock market investments? You’ll make lots of money! Honestly!

All your projections, including those years and years in the future, work out perfectly.  Even those based entirely on masturbation fantasies!  One word of caution—it costs you more than self-esteem to be wrong.

  2. These clowns know as well as anyone else that sea level has been rising since the end of the last ice age.

Reducing the world to sozialista peonage (except for the reducers themselves, of course!!) can only affect the peons, not the climate.

And I would personally like to know precisely who are these so-called “climate scientists” among whom there is a “consensus.” I would like to know just how they make a living, and who pays them.

I suspect that would be the most illustrative thing there is to know about them.

Does anyone else here remember Lysenko?  He was neither first nor last of his kind.

    wink

  3. If you don’t know about “Lysenkoism” look it up.  Especially if you are puzzled whether “unbiased scientific inquiry” and “Joe Stalin” belong together.  You’ll also learn about Lararckianism! surprised

  4. Second the motion, Oink.  Every time I hear of the latest skyfall study these days, I wonder if there even IS such a thing as “unbiased scientific inquiry” any more.

    hmmm

  5. The Sky Is Falling!!! The Sea Is Rising!!!  pretty wsoon, we’ll all be squashed like bugs, if Chicken Little, AlGore and the rest of the Usual Suspects had their way. crazy

Lysenko claimed that petroleum and hydrocarbons were the result of fermented dinosaurs and ferns.

Mendele’ev (father of the Table of Elements) claimed that petroleum and hydrocarbons are abiotic, that is, produced by geological processes in the core and mantle, and is not pickled pterosaurs. Any “organic” material was there because the oil got pulled up (and polluted) through an organic-filled layer.
Hmmmmm, Jupiter, Saturn and Titan have methane atmospheres (and lakes on TItan).

Probably not too many “Barnies” wandering around out there just waiting to croak and get made into swamp-gas…

Just remember:  Lysenko = Stalin’s Favorite Moonbat, and Mendele’ev = Real Scientist.

  6. On the bright side guys, I’m at 350’ (106,680mm for you euros out there) elevation, so I have a few more years before I have to start sandbagging.

    Sandbagging is hard work.
    Me? Work?
    Laugh I thought I’d die.
    Die means funeral.
    Funeral means money.
    Money means work.
    Work?
    Me work?
    Laugh I thought I’d die....

  7. Incidentally, could a local variation of the rising tide be arranged?  For example, one that can flood out all the tunnels dug by infiltrators and smugglers beneath our so-called southern border?  And keep them flooded?

I know this is off topic, but how many (and whose) men could have been required to dig the most recently discovered one?  Over how long a time?  God knows how long it has been there, and how many illegals and/or terrorists have slipped through it!  And God only knows how many other such tunnels await discovery!  Not to mention the rash of recent armed incursions.

    Grrrrrr!

    mad
