  1. Don’t laugh, it’s been ten thousand years since the Wisconsin Glacier departed. We’re due.

  2. Live! from the frigid hell that is western Germany!

It snowed about 2 inches on Friday, dropped to well below freezing Saturday and bit, fat flurries came down for about 2 hours today (Sunday). The thermometer in the SUV I’m driving to and from work has read anywhere from -1C to 3C for the past 4 or 5 days, at least during the day. Nights, I stay my fat southern weather acclimated ass inside.

Meanwhile, my fiancee is driving from NJ to VA Beach in mid-50’s weather. Reports say it should be in the upper 60’s this week in my neighborhood. CANNOT WAIT TO BE HOME!!!

Of course, with my luck I’ll end up on the team coming back here to Landstuhl in January.

  3. Well, there ARE 2 crews headed to the Gulf next year. 1 to Qatar and 1 to Bahrain. Of course, the women in my life have banned me from going to the desert ever again. Guess I’m stuck in the winter wonderlands. Unless there’s a job in Kwajalein or Diego Garcia…

  4. Ryan: Have the starving wolves crossed the frozen Rhine yet?

  5. I’ll find out Friday when I drive over it on my way to Frankfurt and the “Freedom Bird”. Damn Lufthansa. Idiot travel dept booked us United coming out and Lufthansa on the way back. Wanna guess who can’t use his frequent flier miles to upgrade to business class because of that?

Just gotta keep telling myself that at the end of that day there will be a cold beer (or 6), a soft bed and a warm woman waiting for me.

The ‘starving wolves’, in this day and age I believe are better known as African Muslims and they aren’t headed this way. Things are no better either in Fwance or Germany.

As for the global warming, I take Drew Carey’s side. Stand outside emptying a can of hairspray saying, “Screw the kids, I’m cold NOW!”

  6. Ski slopes in Belgium? I haven’t spent much time in Belgium but I can’t recall seeing anything remotely resembling a mountain. It has been chilly here in SE England but no snow as yet. Fortunately I have a 4x4 gas guzzler for when it does come. Gotta keep up those CO2 levels!

  7. Same thing happened from the 1300’s to the 1800’s—the “Little Ice Age”.  Man’s impact upon the environment at that time was much less than it is now.

Perhaps this is just another cyclic hiccup in world weather.

  8. Let’s see..... In New Hampshire, this is called “Normal”.  It snowed both turkey day and the following saturday. No big deal, ho hum… Business as normal.

Note to whining eunichastanis:  go see “Chicken Little” (befoire the bird flu gets him)

Or “The Day After Tomorrow”, for that matter.

    And, quichyerbellyachin’… soapbox crazy  smurf

  9. 1 question ... was it Al Gorebot that drew in the directional arrows in the gulf stream in the diagram above?
I have lived on the right coast all my life, from Key West to Messatwoshits, and I have always been taught that the current ran south to north around here.
Just another example of another dummycrat not knowing his ass from his elbow ... or ... shit from shinola ... or (feel free to jump in here any time)
