Global Values?

  1. "Global values?” That’s rich!  Could someone be kind enough to spell them out and explain just where they came from, and just how they came to be “global values?”

As far as I am concerned, Amnesty International is ACLU International, for all practical purposes.  One outfit is as cockeyed, and as nauseatingly useless, as the other.  Good riddance to both, and the sooner the better.

    cool smirk

  2. I saw this on the news last night.  I was stunned to even hear the use of the word ‘gulag’ in this story.  I read Solsentizen’s
(sp) The Gulag Archipelago in high school and was practically traumatized by it.  To even use that word in the same conversation as ‘America’ or ‘Gitmo’ so disgusted me I almost yelled at the TV.  I never do that.

Let’s talk about ‘Global values’ when we have in front of us a list of the countries that provide the most foreign aid.

They’ve done that, Phoenix. They present it as a percentage of GNP/GDP, never total money, and only include government money and exclude private donations.

It’s the same spin meisters doing everything they can to make the U.S. look as bad as possible. Remember Jan Egeland?
