  1. I think Attempted Maiming should be a crime and should carry an even worse penalty than attempted murder. Death by prolonged agony sounds appropriate.

Wrap this sick bitch up in a stainless steel fine-weave fishnet and draw it tight. Then hang it from a hook. Use a small saw to cut off 5 or 6 of the patches of skin that stick through the net several times a day. Then squirt some acid on the cut areas. When each day’s bleeding stops, hang the net off the end of a pier so her mouth is just above the tide line. There should be high voltage involved too, somehow. And a bit of fire. And maggots. With luck you can get at least a week out of this torture before she succumbs.

I am not sorry for this idea. We set up the USA with no cruel and unusual punishment, but didn’t realize that there would be cruel and unusual crimes. And an utterly heartless and inhuman attack like this, designed to inflict a lifetime of suffering on another, is about as cruel as it gets. Time in jail, or even a quick and clean death do not come close to enacting sufficient vengeance.

(Hey, whoo hoo! Using the new Mozilla to write this comment, I see the thing has a built-in spell checker! Great!!)

  2. At an absolute minimum, punishment should match the crime.

  3. Sad, as the mother of a burn survivor - I must disagree. Burns are horrible injuries and to inflict them upon someone else for whatever reason is simply inhumane. A quick, painless death is the only solution - as a subhuman such as this has no ability to ever realize the depth of what was done. Ever. Peoples such as this - sociopaths - can not be cured, ever. Maybe redemption in the religious sense, but as they have no concept of others to feel empathy, sympathy or even to be able to feel for another person - they will always be a danger to others. Always.

We have let the ‘good intentions’ of spineless, gutless and just plain idiotic fools - to allow us to stop just simply taking these people out. Why ever risk them being loose on society again, why pay for 3 hots and a cot - what a waste of money. I read a story (was looking for a child murder by someone my family knows) about a subhuman who cut off her 6 week old babies genitals - and blamed it on the family dog (think yippy dog, not big killer dog). . .

I have no sympathy - a quick trial (the body parts and bloody diaper were gone - and no blood what-so-ever on said killer dog) and then a quick and painless death. These are not redeemable, salvageable people. They won’t someday see the light, find God and suddenly be the woman next door.

We are being held hostage by the idiots who are letting these criminals (illegals, terrorists and these subhuman killers) run wild without giving a damn that it is US they are killing, hurting and draining our economic lifeblood.

But even as much as I despise these evil, vile people - and the moorons who let them wreak their havoc - setting them on fire is not something I ever will even joke about again. . .

  4. I agree with Heinlein on this one: Punishment *must* be both cruel and unusual or it serves no purpose.
While the judge should be benevolent in purpose, if his sentences do not cause the convict to suffer there is no reason for the convict to discontinue said behavior. If such punishments are not unusual enough to be significant and remarkable, they go unnoticed, and thus do not serve to either deter nor instruct.

  5. How does a public beheading by sword, axe, or guillotine sound, Wardmama(no rusty hacksaws like the terrorists use, although chainsaws and/or powerful lasers might work)?  It’s painless yet gruesome, and nobody will forget it.  Punishment, IMHO, is first and foremost a deterrent, not vengeance or rehabilitation.  Therefore, I propose using a lot more public punishment - including floggings and shaming.  But the punishment should fit the crime - the death penalty ought be reserved for the severest of crimes, including rape, murder, high treason, and intentional maiming.

  6. I disagree again. If and I admit in this peace, love and justice (for none) pc atmosphere, it is a big if - a speedy trial, one appeal (with a review board of a judge, defense attorney, and prosecuting attorney) and then zip, zap, lethal injection - done and gone could happen, the leason to be learned by future criminal wanna be’s would be do the crime, pay the price. They’d learn quickly that there is no more plea bargining, no more 14+ appeals where you outlive those who accused you, no more time for insane Governors, Parole Boards of 20 years olds or activist judges being able to set you free to prowl and kill again. Yes, some people are redeamable and yes some people kill for, pardon me, justifiable reasons - that is what a **#)@ trial is for to make those distinctions.

What I really truly despise about the current system is that it is basically saying our lawyers, judges, juries, cops (i.e. our whole criminal justice system) are wrong and I/We are right. I call b***s*** on that. . .

I do not want a killer, child molester, crack or meth head, gang banger or sociopath living next door to me - the majority of American’s agree with me on that. And why should these criminals get so many appeals, 3 hots and a cot, cable tv, HS or college education, lawyers, able to file lawsuits, marry, have children etc - on the taxpayers dime? To me that is the real offense - but I do worry, having lived in TX during the McDuff debacle - there are no guarantees other than carrying out the Death Penalty to keep these subhumans from killing/destroying again.

It all began in the 60s with this ‘find a reason’ psycho babble touchy feely bs - take a look liberal moorons for every child abuse vic who goes on to torture or kill there are 9 who say “F it all, I had a horrible childhood, let me make my World a better place,” for every impoverished criminal there are 9 who rise up and say - “I want a better World for me and my family, let me do what I have to get ahead.” There is no excuse for crime other than you are 1) taught from day one that laws and truth should be broken and/or 2) you just want to get what you want at any price, but usually the easiest damn way possible without regard for others. I don’t care - most of us grow up with less than ideal parents, less than others and struggling to get a good grade or get the money for school or a job or whatever - most of the criminal element just don’t want to bother to - forgive me here - play by the rules. There is no excuse or reason what-so-ever.

But I will give the whiners a tad of gain - there is no need for the Death Penalty to be grusome, painful or for that matter public. Believe me, if the criminal element (and I’m talking about the ‘somewhat sane ones’) realize that bing, bam, boom within in a year you are as toast as your victim - bet those crime rates fall.

Just like in areas where conceal carry laws exist - guess what liberal idiots - the criminal gun killing rate goes down. . .

    It is simple common sense.

  7. Ok, I’ll certainly cede that point Wardmama: quick justice should be meted out. It’s what I’ve been saying for a long time. Under the present system, those convicted and given the death sentence sit in jail for nearly a generation; their crimes have long been forgotten by the public before the penalty is enacted. Immediate judicial review which is only looking for improper actions in the courtroom - not retrying the case! - and, passing that, carry out the punishment. Not to take a step onto the slippery slope, but you could add one appeal for clemency. But there would be a list of crimes to check that appeal against. “You did X with the intent to kill or maim? Nope, no clemency for you.”

Death by execution does not have to be the perfectly clean thing it has become. Ok, it shouldn’t go as far as prolonged torture, but hanging or beheading or firing squad should suffice. The criminal feels pain and suffers for a minute? Gosh, too bad. Or give them a couple shots of morphine ahead of time, get them high as a kite. Then pull the lever. And don’t hide it either. Their death has to be both punishment for them and object lesson for the rest of us.
