   Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
   Because He lives, All fear is gone.
   Because I know He holds the future,
   And life is worth the living just because He lives.

   The self control comes after. I’ve known many people (myself included) who had much more self control after they began attending church, reading the bible, studying God, and trying to walk in His light.
