  1. Better she should win than someone who might actually do something. She can go on being an embarassment, and having no power or influence, and keep the Dimocrats off balance.

  2. As a resident of GA-4, I have to disagree with you, candyuniverse.  SOMEBODY is going to win this primary, and due to the gerrymandering of the district it will be a dem who gets the seat in November.

I am not willing to trade my representation for the sake of some nebulous “she’s a powerless loon and makes the dems look bad so we should leave her in” argument.

The fact of the matter is, I want someone in there who is going to represent this district—it may not be someone with whom I agree or who will vote my way much of the time, but I want that person to be rational and deserving of the honor and privilege of holding that power.

McKinney is a disgrace and would not be in there now if Denise Majette had sat still when we put her in place in 2002.

Or for another angle—how would YOU like your representative in Congress be any or all of the following:

1.) Ranked 408th in terms of power.
2.) Put forth multiple conspiracy theories about US government involvement in 9/11.
3.) Uses her power and influence to investigate such important national matters as the death of Tupac Shakur (part of another US govt conspiracy of hers).
4.) Known race baiter with MULTIPLE instances of run-ins with law enforcement—the recent kerfluffle is only the latest.
5.) Daughter of a famous local politician who remarked upon her loss in 2002 that “it was the J-E-W-S”.
6.) 65% of her funding comes from out-of-state and out-of-district sources, including many members of CAIR and several sources that have since had funds frozen after 9/11—known Palestinian and Hizbullah funding sources.
7.) Her best argument for staying in power after the announcement of the runoff was “I brought sidewalks to DeKalb county so the children wouldn’t have to walk on the street to go to school.” She also bragged about the millions of federal dollars she brought back to the district that DeKalb county “hasn’t even spent yet”.

Do YOU want this person representing YOUR district?  I assume not, so please don’t wish her on those of us who have to put up with her.

Hank Johnson is no prize himself, and I would love the seat to be turned red in November.  But since that is unlikely to happen, I will push for him to win the dem primary and hopefully we can get conservatives out for the general and get a Republican in there.

    But McKinney must be gone.

  3. Sorry, I’m really not wishing her on anyone. However, I live in North Carolina, in the district that Mike Decker used to “represent”, so I have plenty of experience with sorry excuses for representation. This would be the Mike Decker that confessed this week that he switched parties for a $50k payoff. The one who voted for whatever the group/person with the highest bid paid for. The one who publicly said that he never ever paid attention to people who called/wrote his office with opinions about issues and pending legislation, because those people were obviously the lunatic fringe. And let’s not forget his biggest claim to fame, the oration on how women who were raped never get pregnant...unless they enjoyed it. According to him, it’s biologically impossible. Yeah, we have our own embarassments here. I believe in what Cicero said: “Politicians are not born, they are excreted”.

I am sorry I offended you. I hope rational people like you actually get out and vote and get rid of her.

  4. Hi candyuniverse,

No offense taken—sorry if it came off that way.  The schadenfraude (sp?) of having a lunatic on the other side is easy but as you well know it’s much more painful when it’s your representative.

The rape/pregnancy/enjoyment bit is ringing a bell—I remember hearing about this guy now....sigh.....

    good Cicero quote!
