Now ‘at there is a nice po-po or I’m a liberal.
If I had a remote winder-wynder, I’d roll that window up and drive that around for the rest of the night…
The sounds alone would be worth it…
I’m just glad I bought a diesel a few years back. 47 miles on an imperial gallon. Diesel costs over £1.20 a litre today (over $8 a US gallon). I am buying mine in France where it’s about £1.05 a litre. Not much of a saving, but it brings that inner satisfaction of knowing you are not paying tax to ZaNuLabour to fund more welfare deadbeats. Though of course I am still paying too much tax for Johnny Frenchman to have a 35 hour week! The lesser of two evils?
If he lives right next to the chunnel it might work. He’s saving .15 per litre.
Word problem time!! How much diesel does Lyndon have to buy to make the trip worthwhile, at a conversion factor of 1 imperial gallon = 4.5 litres, and if the length of the chunnel trip is 35 miles in each direction? Assume no wear and tear on his vehicle, assume his time is worthless, assume he doesn’t pick up the clap just by being in fwance.
I’ll bet that guy who’s pumping the gas is thinking, “I’d love to pump that ass!”
He prolly works in France. A good friend of mine lives in NW Italy, drives every morning through part of France and works in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Thirty-something minutes. Gas is much cheaper in Italy (than in Fr and MC), she tells me.
And Macker, that’s exactly what the mustached “Assistant Gas-Pumper” is thinking.
