Gas Pains

  1. This is exactly right.  Fuel prices are obscene.  Electricity rates continue to creep up.  About the only energy that is dropping is natural gas, and while I do appreciate that fact in winter, that is the only time I really get to enjoy saving a few bucks.

If Romney wins, the day after the election the media narrative is going to start crucifying him about high gas prices, high unemployment (which will magically jump above 10%, you know, where it should have been all along) and any other ills they have ignored the past 4 years.

    Bastards all.

  2. Paid $3.59/gallon yesterday here in Texas. But that’s beside the point. You’re right about the media turning a blind eye to soaring prices, and the reasons for them.

On a related note, back in August the EPA slipped a new regulation in under the radar. When 15% ethanol begins to be sold (yet another EPA mandate) there will be a 4 gallon minimum purchase requirement (here and here).

Only a moonbat government could turn something as simple as putting gas in your car into an expensive and convoluted exercise.

  3. Not to mention - take a look at your water/sewer bills - ours went up horribly - turns out new EPA crappola that is passed onto us (consumers) as a ‘fee’.

We just got hit with the news that this PT adventure to ‘fix’ hubby’s back will be a cool $144/month just on the co-pays - so we have to figure out in a fixed budget with little wiggle room - where to magically come with that kind of extra funds. So we have to give up the garage again to bring the remainder of my Mom’s boxes - and get rid of that cost - which will cover just over half that.

And last month I was told I just wasn’t qualified nor had ‘it’ for an entry level job - this really, really sucks.

    Nov can’t come fast enough.

  4. $4.099 a gallon here in Los Angeles.  My last trip to the grocery store where the most exotic things I bought were a pack of Hebrew National hot dogs and some frozen burritos, came to $140.00

Obama doesn’t have as much support as he did, but most people around here still think Obama is great and everyone from the evil oil companies to GWB is responsible for our troubles.  Some people have actually woken up enough, but Obama will probably still take California.

  7. What is truly depressing about this - no mention of how fuel prices affect the price of every single commodity used by people. Higher gas prices lead to higher food, clothing, and every other item you use.

Obama said he was going to make the cost of electricity higher - but he’s found a way to truly destroy every facet of the economy.
