Good one - when that happened to us, my hubby just took the 1994 Buick to the Midas guys - who even with their niffty tools - barely could get it off. That was the last time, he tried home repairs. With two older cars - leave it to the people who do it every day.
Other than the stupid idiot light. We had just taken the van in for a pretty major repair - and about two days later the light came on (you know, check engine) - well we didn’t care. So a friend just bought one of those little gadgets that will ‘read’ that idiot light for you - it’s a nothing thing - probably in the end - the fuse for the check engine light. They are going to the pay and pull place to get a couple of things for the van and will pick up whatever the idiot light said it was either there or at the car parts place.
I remember my cousin working on an old Chevy (you know the ones, massive steel tanks that could run through a house and keep on going) - and he is not the smartest knife in the drawer. These new cars are just an electronic nightmare that border on junk.
Although having said that - they are still running after all these years.
