  1. I worked for the Home Office. Recently they brought in a new system which allows us to view our payslips and make changes to next of kin etc. Before you can access it you have to fill in a few fields. On of which is sexual orientation. What ‘kin business is it of theirs? I had to laugh however when one of my older colleagues was stumped by this. She asked the rest of us “what do you put when you are normal?” Apparently there isn’t a field for this!

  3. First off, the only legitimate use of tax monies is defense and security(including police-work) ... everything else should either be privatized, run like a business, or become the province of non-governmental nonprofits.  Second, if a group, government or otherwise, provides funding to artisans or other professionals, their only concern ought be the work those professionals are doing - nothing more.  And third, the only information that should be collected by any group is the minimum needed to make an informed decision.
