  1. And the drivers are striking why? Obviously they want more money. But for what reason? Do they want a raise, or are they complaining that the cost of fuel is eating into their bottom lines too much?

That’s the issue truck drivers have over here, with diesel prices going through the roof.

  2. They are just greedy bastards holding the motorist to ransom, £42k pa is good money for a truck driver especialy for a job that is that secure, no chance of the product falling out of fashon is there?

  3. Good point Chris. Speaking of holding motorists to ransom I saw another story where a petrol station in the West Country was charging something like £1.99 a litre or around $16 for a US gallon. He claimed this was to deter people from filling up unnecessarily. Yeah right. I call that gouging.

As you rightly say £42k is a lot of money for sitting on your butt all day. This is just taking advantage. I hope they carry on and end up getting sacked. Get some Polish drivers to do it for half that amount!

  4. $84000 to drive a truck? Around England, so your long haul OTR drive is at most 2 days? Holy cow. Sign me up! I bet they don’t even have 53’ trailers or double trailer rigs either.
