Anonymous, would you be so kind as to show me in the Constitution where the limitations on First Ammendment rights are given to a bunch of park rangers?  And yes I did read it and am aware of why they did it but that in no way gives the rangers the privilege to limit free speech esp on public (last time I checked national parks are public land).

  3. Various jurisdictions have rules regarding time, place and means of distribution of printed matter or speech. But, they must meet certain tests of reasonability. Hence, you cannot put a paperbox advertising “massage services” within 1000 yards of a school, for example, nor can you get on your soapbox to proclaim your ideas in a residential area at 3 am.

    Still, the wording of the poster is a bit odd.

  4. It is strange, but maybe it keeps the Moonies from handing out leaflets out on the trails?

    Or else the Park Service has taken its lead from college campuses. Maybe they should just call them “leaflet zones”.
