Free Market Regulation

 

1. They were trying to sell this yesterday as some great victory for the EUSSR. What a load of old tosh. As you rightly said they will just raise the price somewhere else. Regulation is needed in places, but when the dead hand of socialism gets in on the act we all end up paying.

2. What a bunch of morons.

   Don’t they realize that there’s only 2 kinds of markets out there:  Free markets and Regulated markets.  When you regulate a Free market, it becomes a Regulated market.  And history has shown us time and again that Regulated markets just don’t work.  Sooner or later, they collapse under their own weight and inefficiency.

   What they really need is less regulation (which promotes competition and thus lowers prices), not more.

3. that kind of double speak should be expected from an area well on its way to fulfilling the dream of Orwell’s 1984.  Of course it just occured to me you heard in on our tax-payer funded Ministry of Truth, NPR.  I listen to them also, afterall I do pay for it
