  2. Skipper I can see the Fwench hailing this as a great victory! I recently spoke to a colleague about this who was shocked to learn that in the US and Canada most employers give two weeks vacation. They only work 35hrs a week across the Channel and they get ridiculously long vacations. In August they more or less close Fwance.

The Fwench are already uncompetitive and this will only drag them down further. I appreciate that it is nice to have “job security” but at what price? I believe ultimately reality will bite them on the arse, but by then it will probably be too late.

Yours from the depths of EUrabia!

  3. Someone needs to explain this to me.  One of my gifts is empathy and I am usually able to at least UNDERSTAND why someone feels the way they do, even if I totally disagree with it.  This I don’t even come close to understanding.  Not even close.  It seems to be that the last thing anyone would ever want to do in France is open a business.  I wouldn’t do it.  NEVER.  I really truly don’t understand the arrogance that goes with thinking like this.  And the complete self centeredness and short sightedness.

  5. We in the USA certainly have our own problems.  But France is truly screwed.

I was sad when a local automotive parts manufacturer shut down and put a hundred-and-some of my friends and neighbors out of work.  Worse would be supporting a non-competitive business and having workers engaged in subsidized make-work jobs—at our expense. Pretty soon I’d be feeling sorry for our entire economy and country.

  6. Maybe the Froggies should institute a draft and start delivering the “tadpoles” wholesale to Iran, where they can immediately surrender to the sand nits. That would at least get them off the streets, and out of the way, let them be IRanistan’s problem… Good riddance, clean up the hopelessly diluted gene pool.

  7. Given their economic set up - how has France remained solvent?
