The jaded does not come from news being reported - it comes from those schlockmisters and sleeze shows that pound crap (Anna Nicole) down our throats as ‘news’ to the point of boredom and it is twisted in by the politicians who make compassion a law. While blithly belittling the faith based charities and programs.
Bureaucracy can not feel nor care. And thus the ‘victims’ become the takers while the real tragedies and victims get passed by.
I give as I can and when I can. I also do and have done over the years.
This type of tragedy happens every day across our country, and thanks to the media and the politicians true compassion is virtually gone from America.
I have a real problem with weather related ‘dying’ as it is a natural occurance. It is sad and indeed when we think of ourselves in that position, it does hurt. It just means we need to tell those we love and care about - that we love and care about them. Because there may never be another chance. And to try to give of our time, talents and selves as we can.
And finally push the media and politicians to get real solutions to the problems that can be solved and to stop the ‘pie in the sky’ moral legislation that aren’t going to accomplish anything other than creating new ‘victim’ classes.
