  1. Reminds me of two stories - one a football player and the other a Marine - told that they would never walk again. Both continued to fight through (I think that they both had broken necks) - and eventually got up and walked.

We (puny humans) know so little about the brain and body. How all the systems work together or how to really fix them. Or even, why my son could survive a 99% total body surface area burn (no skin left from the chin down - 95%, 2nd degree nose up burns - 4%) - and yet the same week - a healthy 22 year old man with a wife and child came home from work and died on his couch.

This type of advancement is what scares me about ‘universal’ healthcare. Look to the countries that have it - still not ‘equal’ and some have good systems and others - not so much. [Saw a poster on Facebook this AM - how come Africans are not fleeing to Cuba for their great and free healthcare? - Makes a solid point] As in truth - ‘universal’ healthcare sinks down to cost measures and maintenance protocols - not much real medical care going on.

And this thinking outside the box, the skys the limit - is what allows invention, advancement and progress.

Good for them and the pure joy that this man got from standing up and walking again. May it happen a millions times before the regressive, hate-filled control freaks of the World find a way to stop it.

  2. yup

No matter what scientific miracles we manage, examples like yours will ever remind us that we are human and NOT the masters of the universe.
