Hank Hill says ‘propane.’
Hmm. Kind of reminds me of “Pogo.” I still miss that strip. Walt Kelly was one in a million.
"We have met the enemy and he is us.”
That was the main message, Macker. Most of the others dovetailed with it.
My favorite Pogo series was the “banned” one on the Pig and the Goat (Khrushchev and CastrateCastro.) They turn up in the book “Instant Pogo.” My other two Pogo books are the “Pogo Poop Book” and the “Jack Acid Society Black Book.” It’s gonna be awhile before anyone can con me out of those.
In the “Pogo Poop Book,” we find an article called “Low Down on the Top (or the Brothers Grim).” Here is an excerpt:

However, for many centuries the Arabs were under the impression that civilization, theirs and the only true one, had gone about as far as it could go. So with the right people holding all the right lands, etc., they stamped a staying foot on the status quo. A few hilarious acts worked their way into the criminal code; i.e., a man’s hand and a stolen loaf of bread were exchangeable. But for the most part there were few laughs....”
