  1. I think that the pressure has succeeded to a point in getting the Arubans to do more than they might have done without it.

The problem is that too much pressure is going to make the whole thing go negative. The mother has reached this point and has surpassed it. Her latest “news conference” has illuminated this perfectly. She’s making accusations that nothing can support and bad-mouthing the very people that she needs to help her.

Somebody get her a tall glass of STFU.

  2. Forget Beth Twitty.  She’s dying of misery and of being a money-maker for FOX News.  How many reporters has FOX sent down there?  At last count, I think there were FIVE !  Plus, every night Greta plays ‘Guess the Mess’ for one hour of prime time.  Everyone is pissing everyone off.  Stin is right in saying that with this incredible amount of pressure, things are bound to go negative.  Screw FOX.  But I simultaneously feel sorrow and hatred for everyone else.  There’s that negative coming home to roost.  If prosecutors finally do speak to the public and unleash a pile of evidence and finish this case, we Americans should have egg on our faces for our ineluctable need to know.  Good for their system for teaching us something about keeping a secret.  Who in the hell but us demand ‘the right to know’ and then turn that frenzy into 38 days of ‘news’.

  3. Congratulations, Phoenix. You sent me to the dictionary with that one: “ineluctable”. I love it. LOL

That “right to know” or the variation “the people’s right to know” is usually prattled around by the MSM types and is only an excuse for their own desire to know things that they ueually have no need to know. They will then judge whether or not they can use it to further their agenda and use it or not depending on their desires.

  4. I sympathize with the mother - if one of my kids were missing, I’d be a major pain in the ass.  But she has gotten on everybody’s nerves with that outburst last night. She needs to go home, jump in the pool and stay there to cool off, while the experts do the searching and commenting.  Calling the Kalpoes “criminals,” might not be the best thing to do, as a judge who does have all the facts released them, and you can get sued for less than her comments.

We all need to back off here for a while and give the Arubans a chance to breathe.  For all we know, Natalee may have been kidnapped and taken to South America in the white slavery trade - it’s happened before, and should be looked into.  If she’s dead, there’s probably little chance of finding her body after all this time.  Anyone who thinks Joran or the Kalpoes killed her needs to think about that for a moment.  Why?  What would have motivated them to do so?  Sorry, I’d be looking elsewhere for my answer.

  5. This just on Fox. One of the Kalpo brothers’ attorney is threatening to sue the mother if she continues spouting the things that she did in her recent press conference.

I can’t say as I blame him. They were released for lack of evidence and she’s publicly accusing them of a crime as yet unproven to have been committed.

I’m as sympathetic as anyone to her plight but she’s wearing on my last nerve too and shows signs of getting completely off the tracks. Somebody needs to throw a net over her for her own good and for any hopes of finding her daughter or proving a crime has been committed and prosecution of the criminal(s).

  6. I used to scrape my fingernails across the blackboard to gain the attention of an unruly classroom.  Now with erasable whiteboards in my room I have to beat on a desk with a 1970’s police riot baton.

Works very well and after a couple of times, all I’ve got to do is pick the baton up, but I liked the blackboard technique much better.

Re the irritating news whores—just change the channel when they come on.  That’s what I did during the Michael Jackson farce and I do that now with the missing Aruba teen affair.  I read my local morning newspaper to get an update on that as needed.

  7. Prediction: Aruba’s tourist-supported economy will take a HUGE hit from this.  Right or wrong, that’s the effect that this Twitty lady is gonna have on a shitload of sympathers back at home in the USA.

It DOES seem to me like the Aruban “authorities” have sort of fucked up this whole thing.  Of course I’ve been brainwashed by FOX NEWS, though.

I mean, if this happened here, and the last three people to see her were just let go.  I mean, well, it just WOULDN’T HAPPEN. They’d be charged with murder baceuase it’s obvious that these three young men did something to her.  At least that Dutch kid.  The Indian guys know what happened and the kid’s father knows too.  They are liars.

  8. This poor girl has been missing too long to still be alive.........If she were dumped into the ocan she will never be found.........I feel so bad for the family but feel that they have to do what ever they can to find resolution to this case..........One always needs to have hope that their child will be found safe & sound...........it just doesn’t seem likely at this point............

  9. I fear you’re right, Dottie. If she’s alive she’s probably not on the island any more.

Either way she’s lost to her family and if there’s no body found there will never be any kind of finality for her family. They will always be tormented with not knowing what happened to her.

I really don’t want to watch her mother coming apart on television, which is what she seems to be doing. I hope she gets a clue soon.

Now it appears that Greta “The Ghoul” Van Sustern is going to be moving on to other unfortunates. It’s a living, I suppose.

  10. The Kalpoe brothers deliberately mislead/lied to the police and obstructed justice.  Isn’t that a crime?  Hunh?  I don’t think it is what Beth Twittle said so much as that her presence is creeping out the Arubans and threatening their need for American tourists to keep them complacent and rich.  They have to attack someone.  FOX has managed to puppet her on TV every night, so she is the likely target.  As well, so much speculation on TV here in the states is driving the Arubans nuts about their legal system being incompetent.  What a bunch of stressed-out people everywhere you look.  Beth Twitty is slowly dying inside and to add to that, every where she goes for help, she gets blank faces.  I hope she gets some justice soon.  No mother should have to go through this.
