4. Clive Cussler wrote a pretty good story some years ago having to do with the US and Canada becoming one nation.  I believe it was called Night Probe.  It’s a good read.

5. We at least need a strip along the west side so that we can pipeline

7. My ex-wife is remarried and living in Calgary. She says everyone has two furnaces (?) and that, in the dead of winter when they go get the mail or newspaper they leave the front door hanging open because fuel is so cheap. There is no Provincial Sales Tax in Alberta and I think they even get a stipend like Alaska does.

12. Where’s all the vehement media outrage over this? Where are all the protesters? Where are all the Chicken Little-type AP stories about the coming environmental apocalypse in Canada? Oh… wait. I forgot. Only America threatens the environment (i.e. George Bush). Move along, nothing to see here.
