  1. For the naysayers of vaccines in general, I have a suggestion.

Raised in a military family, and stationed overseas, we were immunized against everything the military could think of.  My shot record went into three volumes before I joined the Navy and the Navy continued them.

Surely, with a population of this size and sort, some real statistics about the hazards of immunization could be gleaned?

You know, something that would make the puddinheads shut up?

    Permanently?

  2. When I was a small child, I remember the first huge wave of polio immunization back in the 50’s.  That’s when I got mine.

It made my parents happy because one of my Aunts had been crippled by polio when she was a small girl.  She wore a brace on her leg until the day she died nearly ninety years later.

When I was in my 20’s I met a guy almost exactly my age.  The difference between us was that about the same time I was getting immunized, he contracted polio.  He was one of the last polio victims in this country.  In his case, it crippled both of his legs.  If he wanted to cross a room, he had two choices, use his crutches or crawl.

    That’s enough for me.
