Ms. Coulter is a lawyer, Ok? Remember that other lawyer who tried to disavow himself of telling lies based on a variable definition of the word “is”? That’s how lawyers think. So go back and read what she actually said; she neither called Edwards a faggot or referred to him as one. Oh sure, she implied it by her oblique statement, but left it to her listeners to make the connection. Y’all are being played! I’ve read this story on about a dozen blogs so far, and only Emperor Mischa picked up on that.
Sometimes I think Ann is too subtle for most folks. I think she knew exactly the firestorm that would result from her statement, and that it would totally prove her unspoken point: we’ve become such a nation of sensitive pussies that it’s headline news when somebody calls somebody else a naughty name. Read her books: Ann respects men who are actually MEN. Sticks and stones, people. I agree with her; it’s high time for the USA to man up.
But she does sometimes shoot her mouth off a bit too much. Better to refer to him as the Breck Girl, My Silky Pony, etc. Because it really doesn’t matter whether he’s hetero or homo; he’s a spineless lying wiener. Which is the other real world definition of a faggot.
I dunno… We on the Right are supposed to be the “good guys”. Can’t we hold ourselves to a higher standard than the loony leftards?

Drew is right. Ann didn’t directly call Edwards a faggot. It was an indirect reference - a glancing blow, intended to wound only without actually drawing blood.
Dean, like all the other Liberals and Democrats (redundancy alert) will not tolerate even for an instant any sort of criticism of them, their motives or their pet chihuaha.
Normally, I would say stay above the fray and fight like gentlemen but I’m afraid Ann has the right idea. If they want to be right bastards then there is no reason why we whould pamper them any longer. This has been going on far too long and they have tied our hands with this political correctness bullshit and the eternal whining about ad hominem attacks.

I agree here - the dems have said and done much worse against the President of the US - this guy is just an out of work politician and she did not say - Edwards is a faggot. . .but the clueless left take it that way, because they are so quick to point out how evil and mean and nasty conservatives are.
Does it hurt the cause - not if you read her books or actually listen to her speak - she is great and uses wit. Sometimes it does seem that she is over the line, until you not listen to the whinning left and read the whole statement in context.
And that has always been their point - they can and are free to say and do anything (truthful or not) but quick to point out anything (usually taken out of context and always true) that a conservative says that is ‘not nice.’
That pic should be sold as a poster for young girls to use as a role model - certainly, given all her credentials (and likewise Ms Condolezza Rice) much better than Paris, Britany or that like crowd.
