Extremist ideas are being spread by Islamic study centres

 

1. Sheesh, you’d think this was freakin rocket surgery.

   Just because the Saudis are our nominal “allies” doesn’t mean they want to be like us. It’s bad enough that we decry the human rights abuses, despotism and oppression of __________ regime, particularly in Africa or the Middle East, while ignoring how oppressive, despotic and abusive the Saudis are. But ignoring it is one thing, being blind to it and leaving it out of your calculations is another. Acting as if there is no elephant in the room is silly, possibly dangerous, and certainly damaging to your credibility. Acting as if you will never, ever reach the point where you have to clean up elephant shit in order to breathe is to invite a particularly disgusting variation on death by drowning.

2. To be honest, I think it’s long past time when churches got taxed under the same structure as ‘not for profit’ organizations. The biggest property owner in Utah is the Mormon Church, the biggest property owner in Massaschusetts is the Catholic Church.
