  1. As an amateur historian who has covered WWI, I am appalled.

For four years, millions of soldiers from dozens of countries, dominions, and countries fought, killed, and died while locked in battle with perhaps the most powerful country of its time, the German Kaiserreich.

Contemporary history would tell us that their sacrifices were meaningless, that their suffering was in vain. However, the fact remains that, in November of 1918, it was GERMANY that fell, and not the Allies. It was BERLIN that was plunged into the whirlwind and not London, Paris, Rome, and Washington.

It was German Militarism that lost the war, and not European Democracy.

    How long have we forgotten?

How long have we taken the gift they gave us in VAIN?

And the sad thing is that I would have expected this sort of thing to be done by American tourists, as we Yanks tend to have no idea about WWI beyond the tired, false, and well-worn cliches of Littlewood.

I expected better from the French, on whose ground these battles were waged, whose soldiers made some of the greatest and most horrific sacrifices, who stood to loose THE MOST if the Kaiser and his army were to win.

I wish that I could be consoled knowing that this was happening on a ground to a battle fought 80 years in the past, but I cannot.

For I KNOW that there are plenty of fools, plenty of ingrates, plenty of swine who are not worthy to LICK THE BOOTS of these soldiers and the much-maligned officers they fought under, who are doing the same thing today, and who have already cost millions of people their lives and even more their freedom only thirty years ago in South East Asia.

All I can say is this: If you want to make a porn movie, THAN MAKE A PORN MOVIE, but HAVE THE RESPECT to the men who GAVE THEIR LIVES for your right to DO SO!

    I feel sick.
