4. THEFIRE.ORG does a great job of standing up to McCarthyism (heh heh heh) by universities.  Also see StudentsForAcademicFreedom.

   Re gun ownership & risk of being shot: The chances of dying by falling from an airplane increase if you own a parachute.  This means, obviously, that it’s better to jump without one....  (especially recommended for the ACLU)
