I had a short discussion with one of my fiancee’s classmates at University the other day here in NZ. She said she was rooting for Kerry in our election, so I asked her if she could
A) Define what it was/is she liked about Kerry, and
B) define what she disliked about W.
Her response? She disagrees with W’s stance on abortion and gay marriage.I briefly explained that gay civil unions are fine with me, just don’t call it marriage, and that, as a man, I really could give a shit about abortion (my personal feeling is that if you want to tell a woman she can’t have an abortion then you automatically volunteer yourself to adopt her unwanted child). In either case these are not crucial issues affecting our daily lives.
The trump card, when dealing with foreigners and their opinions about US politics, is to simply tell them that we don’t elect a president to please them, so fuck off.
Illegitimi Non Carborundum, What did she say she liked about Skerry, let me guess, Nada. Same with Sean Hannidy’s producer or whatever they call her “flipper”. Same with my Moonbat office mate. Big Skerry supporter. I got into a conversaton with her about gun grabbing and I said her politics sounded more Libertarian than Democrat. She agreed she said she was just voting against the President. I guess if the Dems had run a block of wood for pres they’d have these zombies voting for it.
