  2. Isn’t Saab owned by “Government Motors?”

  3. Was owned, I think? Got sold off last year? Or at least they were thinking about it. What about Opel and Vauxhall? Maybe there are no buyers for any of these companies ... I guess their national governments will have to buy them. And the Great March moves forward!!

GM owned all of Saab by 2000, and Saab has not made a dime in profit since 2001. Way to go dumbshits.

  4. O’Rourke is correct, of course, in that it was government meddling that leeched the romance out of the relationship.

It was also government mandates that caused US carmakers to have so much higher cost-to-build.

It was government inaction that allowed oil prices to rise to ruinous levels, killing the market for vehicles that Americans actually wanted to buy.

And in the end, it will be government ‘engineering’ that turns the American automobile into a dismal little shitbox that people will beg to get out of.

Also, Saab, along with Pontiac, Opel, Hummer and Saturn are among the brands GM plans to kill in its march to government sponsored ‘viability’.

  5. this is nasty shit, Opel survived the last fascist who wanted it and I hope it will survive this one, it is Ford I worry about, unless they own Obama (someone does, as well as Soros) they are goung to find a very slanted playing field, making the best cars will not be enough.
