  1. Sooooo, will they turn-in their armored SUV’s for little GEO “econo-boxes”?

Will they fly regular airlines rather than private jets?

Will they sell their energy guzzeling multi-thousand square foot houses, vacation homes, and beach houses for smaller energy-efficient homes?

There’ll be one set of rules for them and another for us.

  2. Major, no reason to force these folks to trade in their road whales. Just make all vehicles sold subject to CAFE requirements, emissions standards, crash test standards, and quadruple the gas guzzler tax. The SUV craze never would have happened if we had an honest government. The only time there should be a CAFE exception is when the vehicle is registered to a business of a certain size (one that employs at least 12 people maybe), and those vehicles would then be subject to business standards.

It irks me to have such a hard time finding my little econo-car in the parking lot when its surrounded by these beasts, but it irks me even more when I see that almost all of them are driven by just one person, maybe hauling a few bags of groceries.

If the Save Energy shriekfest was for real then there would be major improvements in the building codes, HVAC codes, electrical appliance standards etc. It isn’t the size of the home that adds so much to the “carbon footprint”, it’s the level of energy efficiency it has. A big house that’s properly insulated can use less energy than a little shack that’s poorly built.

  5. They can have my Ford F-150 when they pry it from my cold, dead hands.

Don’t know how any homeowner can function without a pickup.  I haul compost, mulch, organic fertilizer, lumber, stepping stones, the plants my lovely bride wants in the landscape, camping gear for Scouts, etc.  Guess I could have it all delievered and have a wetback, opps, an undocumented immigrant plant the stuff.

I just know there’ll be a double-standard.  One for the Al Gores of the world and one for the rest of us.

  6. I’m not going to put up with Al Gore standards.  That goes for all dems.
