I don’t mean to pick, V, but the article I read said the student got an A- on that paper. He didn’t find out about the expulsion until he went to register for the next semester’s classes. I’m ticked off about it as well. It seems we’re supposed to think for ourselves, as long as we agree with the establishment’s thought processes.
Corrected as you read and as I type! Thanks. Not sure how I missed that. Must have been the blood in my eyes clouding my vision.
Between this, and Ward Churchill, we have more reasons to get rid of tenure! As long as our tax dollars are going to these so-called institutions of higher learning, we should have some say in what and how they are teaching! This is ridiculous!
WTF? When I read this story after I read the one after it about how the college is justifying it’s not backing away from inviting a Moonbat to speak because ‘that’s the principle on which this college and indeed this republic were founded’, that was my reaction. I guess there’s a double standard for students and faculty.
Professors justify their outlandish speech with “it is my job to provoke independent thought with and through what may be perceived as objectionable speech”. Yet when a student shows the independent thinking process that the professor claims to be trying to instill in him, and receives an A- for his efforts, the student still gets expelled? What utter and complete shit is this?
The article says the student is currently looking for another college to accept him. He should be fighting these dirty rat bastards tooth and nail.
