Earth calling CNN

What the heck just happened with the YouTube debate?

  1. C’mon, why would I think CNN would give this debate any respect? I gather what I saw was not CNN’s doing, but something my local cable provider did. Beats me. Maybe that would also explain away how CNN went to commercial in the middle of a candidate’s response too. I saw that one at least twice.

And the big news this morning is that the retired general who asked the gay question turns out to be a Clinton campaign employee. Oh no! Terrible!! Uh no, I say bring it on. Sure, the campaign right now is about the primaries. But these guys are going to have to deal with the Dems at some point, so let’s see how they do now. Maybe there shoud be a few (possibly identified?) questions from the left in all of these events. Hey, they could get the moderators to draw the questions from a great big tinfoil hat! And of course, fair play etc., a few from the right when the Donks have their shows.

The “clinton plant” story is a distraction ... it’s entirely tangental. The Gays in Green question itself is far more important than the source. It’s not one I’ve pondered before. Let’s face it though, with our modern military made up of healthy men and women, most in their early 20s and 30s, there is going to be a huge amount of hooking up (hetero or otherwise) no matter what the rulebooks say.

So let’s re-topic this little post ... should Don’t Ask Don’t Tell become Who Cares? Ie, should the military take those who are willing to serve and not give a damn about their sexual orientation?

Hey, you, down in front! Stop whistling “In the Navy”!!

  2. Turns out four of the questions asked were by demo ops - and cnn didn’t know anything about it.  What a suprise.

  3. I disagree that the GOP should stoop to the stupid, inane and disgusting lows that CNN did on Wednesday. The GOP is lowering itself a bit by promoting candidates that aren’t even conservative - let’s not go all the way and do dirty tricks to cover the fake in the pants suit pretending to be a viable candidate. If the GOP does, we will finally (and really) make elections not worth the time and effort at all.

We all need to talk up and support the conservatives - Hunter, Tancredo, Huckabee, Thompson, and (gag) Paul - over the slick Demlites and RHINOs (Romney, Giuliani, McCain) being forced unto the GOP.

The only reason I value these debates at all - is that they limit the candidates talking time (and hopefully ads - but since I’m in a confirmed GOP area - both sides don’t bother) - and does get them in front of more audiences. Even if it is in contrived (Dem debates) and demeaning (Rep debates) situations.

Given the vapidness of today’s American society - I guess we have to endure this stupidity.
