BM, Kirschwasser is lovely over most types of berries. It’s also good for soaking your Christmas cake in for a few days before you put it all together.
The fondue sounds excellent!
If you will switch from flour to corn starch (corn flour) and,as with the flour, just use enough to dust your cheese matchsticks, you will get a lighter consistency and less of a “flour-y” taste that some people associate with glue.
But here’s the coolest trick of all! Once your lovely cheese is all melted and delish, add 1/4 tsp of baking powder. That’s it.
The tiny amount will cause a few seconds of foaming (no worries) and all of the oiliness that might have come from the cheese will be gone forever!
Yum!
Ah, now there’s a trick with the cornflour and a good one. Also if you quarter parsnips and dust them with cornflour, place in a roasting tin with a small amount of oil, and bake for around 15 - 20 minutes, they are just super for a Christmas vegetable.
Now I’m getting hungry…
