  1. Slick bit of engineering, but the recoil looks pretty spicy! Still you don’t get something for nothing. Unless you are one of those deluded tree huggers that think electricity grows on trees.

  2. Drew - You and my hubby must talk - I think that he is almost into obsession over this. I get frustrated when I can’t find what I want - then get po’d and then give up (for now). He has it in his mind and he will find it. And I go along to keep him from spending every single penny we have.

    Gun porn - you really had me for a second. But here’s how bad it is with his family - we put half the rifles downstairs while his mother was here. There are battles to fight and with her here for a week - there are some not even worth starting.

    Sad - but even family can suck on some issues.

  3. I must say, that’s pretty frakking Star Wars for a tiny pistol. I would imagine the price to be commensurate.

  4. Spicy? Not more than any other 9mm I’d think. There is a little video over at the link that shows the tiny version being fired. The gun doesn’t jump around under recoil very much at all. Most 9mm pistols have a very sharp, fast recoil. They snap. And the smaller you make the gun, the less it weighs, and less weight ALWAYS means more recoil. Ya can’t phool physics.

  5. All that ran through my mind while reading this was the line in The Who’s “Magic Bus”;

    “I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it.”

    “You can’t have it”

    “Can’t have it”

    I love it when engineers “get” it.

  6. Video did look like it had quite a ‘snap’ to it but that shouldn’t put anyone off who can get one.  Darn ... And after Germany I expect it might get even harder to buy a simple air gun here.
    See?  One of the advantages of home (USA).  For now anyway.

    Yeah ... that is a beaut!  Wish I could get it here.

  7. As I visualize the operation of that system, I see an inverted Mk 19 feeding. I’d have one. Oh yes. Projected price?

  8. Ah. “Under $1K!”. And the feeding concept may have been JMBs(pbuh). Remember the old WW1 cloth belt fed guns? Pulled to the rear from the belt, down the ramp, flat against bolt face, straight forward into chamber. Much much larger, but the concept has been around for a long time. Not so miniaturized, and the materials today will be far better.

  9. Exactly CM. There’s nothing really new here, except it’s two proven concepts put together for the first time. In a pistol.

    The cartridge puller on this one also works to align the cartridge, along with the rocking beam case lifter, so no feed ramp is necessary. New rounds are perfectly aligned so they go straight into the chamber. Not having a feed ramp saves you about 3/8”, which can be used for even more barrel length. With very small pistols this makes a huge difference in performance. Once the barrels get over 14” long it doesn’t amount to much, except for the hottest rounds like .357 Maximum [bigger and badder than .357 Magnum].
