2. Drew my first job was a pin chaser in a bowling alley and I can remember oiling the lanes every day! It was a mineral oil but if I recall it was similar to white spirit/turpentine but with a higher flashpoint! The owner of the lanes had me put in plastic strips so it didn’t oil the outer edges. Apparently this was illegal or at least banned but helped improve the scores.
