Do you recall this from a week ago?  Thousands of migrants here for handouts, says senior judge.

  1. Idiots. The system is crap, and totally broken. But mention your awareness of that and get canned. Somebody please jiggle the lever as the last bits of England go down the toilet. We wouldn’t want to waste any water you know.

  2. Drew:  That’s about it…

Peiper:  Any news on when you and the missus might be able to get the hell out of there and get back home?

  3. As the Czechoslovaks so painfully learned in the 30’s, failure to secure one’s own borders not only from the potential of armed external invasion (which they did as well as anybody) but also from disloyal forces already inside is but a measure of extinction. When push came to shove in 1938, the Czechoslovak loyalists found they could not control their extremely large and radicalized Slovak and Sudeten German populations, who would undoubtably aid any invasion by Germany and/or (to a far lesser extent) Hungary.

Chamberlain and CO are to be rightfully condemned for Munich, but the fact remains that many do not realize that a large reason Munich turned out like it did was because there was a general reason to believe that, in the event of war between the Czechs and the German-Hungarian Axis, large portions of Czechoslovakia would declare for the Axis and effectively make large portions of the country (Sudetenland, Slovakia, etc) indefensible, while possibly delivering considerable amounts of the infrastructure, supplies, materials, and forces of the Czech state into the hands of the enemy within hours, and days (at LEAST) before even the most aggressive Western Allied commanders could launch offensives of any kind against the (granted, mostly deactivated and incomplete) Seigfried line, and weeks or (more likely) months before an effective Western Allied push could be made in strength. As such, the Western Allies panicked due to Czech weaknesses, and tried to reach an accommodation by selling the Germans what they thought they already had anyway. And the result has gone down in infamy, and rightfully so.

The moral of the story? If you cannot exert control over your nation while keeping any potential traitors in line, do not expect your nation to last long, particularly with a powerful fifth column working agianst you.

Unfortunately, this is not dissimilar to what is happening in most of the West today, as shown by the US’s Latin American (and to a lesser extent Muslim), Europe’s Islamic, Eastern Europe’s Russian, and India’s Kashmiri problems: large sections of the population- perhaps along with not insignificant portions of territory- refuse to present allegiance to the sovereign nation, instead segregating themselves and possibly planning hostile actions against said sovereign nation. While by no means all of the minority may be hostile, the lack of will and effectiveness on the part of the Central government coupled with the hostile forces that ARE in existence can easily spell a recipe for disaster. When portions of your country effective declare themselves foreign and hostile, you cannot not respond strongly without risking even more encroachment. Give the enemy- be they the Sudeten Fascists of last century of the Islamists today- a foot, and they will take a mile.

It is time to wake up and smell the coffee, because by the time the Czechs began to try and counter the problem, it was already far too late. Any hesitation on this matter- PARTICULARLY on feelgood justifications to make sure we are not “discriminatory"- will only play into their hands. I have no problem with minorities, but if they do not play by the rules everybody else does, they are annoyances at best. Couple that with outside aid, and they can become substantial threats. We’ve already wasted far too much time tiptoing around this issue. Now, we must act.
