SSDD, same song different players
Not sure about the Kenyan end of the flap, but two thoughts strike me here. (Neither hurt much.)
One, the US government was not involved (as far as I know) in obtaining or publishing the picture of Senator Obama wearing traditional Kenyan garb. Therefore, the government does not ‘owe’ an apology. Perhaps the people in Kenya feel the US government should apologize on behalf of certain citizens of the US, but that is not how this nation works.
Two, I don’t care about Senator Obama’s middle name. I really don’t care if he’s a closet Muslim, who seems only remotely possible or plausible. I will not vote for him, not due to any factor of heritage or religious bent, but simply because I do not agree with his concept and ‘vision’ of the United States.
I think we as conservatives and supporters of a Constitutional United States do ourselves and the nation we love a disservice when we engage in fluff issues and arguments of ‘normalcy’ (such as “He’s got a funny name!"). “Political Correctness” and ‘group think’ applies to all groups and we need to be careful.
For instance, many of us remember ‘White Feather’, the late Carlos Hathcock. His name was ‘Carlos’. Gee, does that make him a latino supporter? Does that link him with ‘Carlos the Jackel’? See how silly this gets?
By the way, in response to a question raised about Senator McCain; his middle name is Sidney (as was his grandfather’s and father’s middle name, by the way.) Should we make a big deal about that? Sounds a little ‘sissy’ to me.
Kenyans get their panties in a twist over nothing. Meanwhile Uncle Sam is taking care of business!

Dumb question time, who did make an issue out of the photo? That person may owe Mr. Obama an apology, but all of the United States to apologize to Kenya? Someone has a real sense of humor (or needs to get one).
