Disaster averted or was it all a hoax?

  1. Officials are playing dumb, and that may be a good sign. Better to not show our hand because this may not have been a chance occurance.
Fake speeding charges are a good pretence. Good cops and bad use it. Some years back I got tagged by a HiPo for speeding on a county road. I knew I was not exceeding, and was in fact going 5 under. He came off a side road with no vis and side banks, plus his radar unit was a fixed position unit. He claimed I was doing 30 over. No ticket. It was a birthday prank on my 35th. Its the simplest guise to use when making a stop on a suspicious vehicle.
I think the un news means its bigger then expected.

  2. I saw this in the news last night.  Funny thing is they never mentioned the names of the drivers.  Ya think maybe they didn’t mention the names because people would know exactly who was behind things?

  3. Drew, you’re no more alarmist than any sane person who’s been following current events for the last 10 or 15 years.

Working on the theory of a fake speeding stop:  OK, I like that Feds and locals are teaming up to take the bad guys out of play.  What I don’t like is leaving the public so much in the dark about the nature of what we are facing that a lot of people don’t even believe there is a serious problem with the Jihadis.

One last bit, China Lake Naval Weapons Station is all you say it is, but don’t forget Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station in Orange County.  Rumor has it that Orange County, California qualifies as a world class nuclear power because of it.  I once made the mistake of turning into one of their entry points when I was lost.  The Marine with the .45 was very clear about what I needed to do - immediately.

  4. I wonder what it will take before we wake up and start profiling these people? The US has already stated it may impose a visa requirement on British people of Pakistani descent. Of course this has caused a great deal of seething and whining in Britain. They argue such a move is racist. So the alternative is everyone in Britain will have to get a visa. Unfortunately the US embassy is not geared up for this (it would mean millions of tourist visas). So we have a stalemate. We need to grow a pair and admit a certain segment of the population is a potential threat. If they don’t like it tough.
