  1. I LOVE The Princess Bride!

“My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”

“He isn’t completely dead, only mostly dead.”

  2. What I really loved was Wesley’s confession that the ‘the Dread Pirate Roberts’ was a franchise.

  3. Movies are listed according to all kinds of criteria, but when it comes to “most crammed end to end with memorable quotes”, a few stand out. This is one such. Others in this category are Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, Tombstone and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Personally, I don’t think Billy Crystal should have gotten paid a dime for the role of Miracle Max. It’s quite obvious watching him that, had he realized in advance how much fun he’d have with it, Billy would have happily paid them. Ah well, a deal’s a deal.

  4. Pity we can’t run Inigo Montoya for President in 2012, huh?

  5. Wow, Grumpy. You listed a lot of my favorites. You forgot:

    Paint Your Wagon
    Kelly’s Heros

    thatisall.

  6. You know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Paint Your Wagon. Was that one of those dancing cowboy, singing farm girls in gingham dresses flicks? I tend to avoid them.

But Kelly’s Heros, starring all of Hollywood including Don Rickles and Telly Savalas? Wow, that takes me back. “It’s a freaking tiger, baby!”

I’d add The Big Lebowski to that list, but I think only bowlers appreciate it. Tara Reid’s best film; she has about 3 lines and 2 of them are obscene.

  7. Well OCM, at least it isn’t “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.” I despise that movie, no thanks to my Ex-Wife who deliberately recorded that over my Doctor Who tapes twenty years ago!

Ahh, no. Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood become partners during the California gold rush. They also both ‘marry’ the same girl (Jean Seberg) under the prevailing ‘law of the land, which is mining law.’ Both men have staked a claim… grin

And, as OCM notes, it is a musical. Now, if you can stand Clint Eastwood singing about ‘I Talk To The Al Gore Trees, But They Don’t Listen To Me’…
