  1. Not to be too picky, Skipper, but if it’s gonna hit Houston it has to pass over Galveston, or pass close enough that it won’t make any difference.

  2. How can that big hurricane squeeze thru that tiny hole between Key West and Cuba?  beerstoyou

Sorry. Woke up and noticed that the electricity is back on .... again. Thunderstorms have moved thru my area all nite.  We had a short respite of electric power --the good kind --earlier this evening.  Then blackness.  I felt it my duty to drink all the beer before it got warm.

A hurricane must be unimaginable to anyone who’s not seen one.  Probably why folks stay and die.  The strongest wind I’ve ever experienced was a straight-line 60 mph.  I like storms, but that one scared me.  140 mph?  No thanks.

  3. Local {Houston} news is right now forecasting that Rita will hit between Brownsville & Galveston ....................... we’re about 80 miles from NNW of Galveston, so WE’RE not looking to evacuate at the moment - Galveston is asking residents/visitors to voluntarily evacuate - they’ll decide on mandatory evacuations tomorrow .................
