  1. Hi Skipper,

Yup, Sgt. Monsoor committed the kind of act that wins the Medal of Honor, posthumously.  It’s the sort of thing that gives us all pause while we consider our own acts in light of his.  For me additionally, there is one other item.  I believe that the name, Monsoor, is Arabic or Persian in origin.  Unless I learn otherwise, I will have to re-examine some of my beliefs about Arabs and Persians.

  2. My mistake and apology, for using the term Sgt.  I have been also thinking about Sgt. James Wright, who lost both his hands and continues to serve.

  3. It is sad that the media hasn’t done these stories, Petty Officer Monsoor isn’t the first one. In my son’s DIV - the Screaming Eagles (101st) - one of the young SGTs died 5 days after falling on a grenade handed to him by an Iraqi girl. No one else there died that day. No mention of his valor. Even the young men in SPC Sheehan’s (you know, anti-war activist Cindy’s son) rescue group deserve mention for going to help their fellow soldiers under attack and paying for it with their lives (8 young soldiers died that day).

Granted, if you watch American Valor (documentary on the MOH) it is extremely hard to even get nominated for a MOH - but I think that more young service people need to be recommended for medals - they are doing above and beyond.

Yet all our media yabbers about is a few accusations from suspect Iraqis months after the ‘alledged’ incident took place. Typical liberals - wouldn’t know Honor, Valor or a true Hero if they saw them.

  4. Yet another poor pathetic young person who, with no alternatives available, desperately joined the military to get an education and ended up dying for oil and Haliburton and lies.

  5. Yeah Rickvid - I so desperately want to ask ‘Mother’ Sheehan which catagory her son fell into (poor, minority, no options, just for the education) and when she sputters her garbage pointing out how stereotyping comes back to haunt the person who does it. I also want to ask her whether it isn’t more important to be home voting on Nov 7th rather than joining her in her 50th installment of Harrass the President Tour in DC? Oh wait, doesn’t she realize he will be in Texas to vote? Man she is one dumb bunny. I also wonder if she is going to vote in CA or TX (she registered there in Aug)? Perhaps both, just to make a point.
