  1. Regarding your photograph - appears to me “Concerned Look #22”

    Cheers!

  2. Where to begin, the InterNet is the new playground for the perverts, criminals, cheats and shysters of the World. As a parent (4, who lived long enough to worry about) I have gone back and forth on the Nanny/blocking/checking issue. For one of the rights I hold dearest is the right to FREE speech (which with the revival of the ‘Fairness’ Doctrine garbage is again going to be subject to governmental control). I checked on my kids (without, gasp, their knowledge) and while I would not visit some of their sites nor openly endorse some, they have not ventured to places I was extremely worried about. Now I must admit that it was easier when we just had the one computer - but my hubby has tried timers and nanny software that was almost useless.

As we’ve not had any indication that serious negative issues were going on, three of our four are/have attended college and never had arrests for drug/alcohol problems (at least in that area 1 & 2 believed me when I said I’d pick them up anytime, no questions asked; 3 chose never to believe a word we said, which was our only indication of his suicide attempt and 4 just never wanted to go into the negative after her brothers disasterous attempt).

Skipper, it all begins at the beginning. Invest a few moments in instilling values (church, vacation bible school, scouts, after school sports, music lessons) and talk to the kids, eat with them and guess what - you don’t crap like this (from either end). I studied sociology and pyschology - can’t get over how the pc police have highjacked these institutions to where it has become some mythical uncontrollable place in space that creates preditors like this. Nope it is lousy parents, non-discipline schools and hamstrung cps that can no longer take the truly (and horribly) abused out of homes yet run like mad dogs after the suburban churchgoer who spanks little Hyram once.

As a person who grasps the system - two things will change it - work on keeping families intact and educated and morally grounded and secondly never, ever give an abused child to either of the grandfamilies - I’m sorry but crappy mom and dad had to learn their ways somewhere (that does not cover drug problems, I’ve seen the most wonderful and involved parents suffer that one).

Notice I did not say more money, nor more excuses, nor more governmental involvement. Those remove, lessen and control personal responsibility which weakens the family and makes a person more likely to become a worse parent, not a better one.

As for our 3 guys in the story, castrate them and then give ‘em the death penalty. But for God’s sake don’t shut down or censor the InterNet.

  4. You almost had me Skipper. But I’ve known you since you and Vilmar did this blog. Vilmar has regrettably (is that a word?) signed off of the internet now. Vilmar will agree that you are actually NOT NOW a pedophile. The rest of it is just speculation.

Oh yeah, (the obligatory) not that there is anything wrong with that. Several high school teachers can’t be wrong.

Okay. I’m making fun of the Skipper. Actually, I’d trust him with my nubile 17-yr-old nieces…

Well, even that’s a stretch, one niece is 20 and divorced already.... On second thoght I wouldn’t trust my niesces with the Skipper, they might tax his mighty strength and be the end of him. We want him alive and kicking.

  5. Happy Retiree, the FBI would like a word with you. Go along quietly now. We’ll save a spot here for you when you get out in 20 years.

Christopher, about that 20-year-old niece - what’s her phone number? My strength needs taxing.

    LOL

  6. My 20-yr-old niece is currantly in town attending nursing school. She lasted (and I lost a bet on this) 6 months in her marriage to her high school ‘sweet heart’. My guess is that she got lonely at college. First time on her own, etc. Glad I never sent a gift. I knew it was a doomed marriage. Apparently high school ‘sweet heart’ beat her a couple of times.

Anyway, Skipper, both of my nieces are now ‘legal’ (I’m starting to feel old, I remember changing their diapers...) and attending nursing school here in Dayton. They are staying with my sister, who would have your balls for lunch if you even tried to call… But, if you would put your balls on the line… Michelle, cancel that order for beef… assuming your balls are big enough.

Wish I had pics, ‘cause I know you would drool… My nieces are Maximm hotties.

  7. Chris, my cojones are big enough but my cojones are bigger than my ability to keep up with a 20-year-old. I’d probably throw out my back and then you guys would have to find another blog to hang out at - until I healed ... which might take years.

    LOL
