  1. Heck, in Naw’lans they have a constant barrage of gun fire. You’d think you were on a range. What makes down clown St. Louis any better? do the thugs use silencers?
Enjoy the shooting. maybe I’m spoiled, I’ve got my own range.

  2. Today marks the first day of my retirement from Uncle Sam’s Animal Farm, so I’ll have plenty of time to be ready for the “Lost!” series in the afternoons.  No Foolin’...although I will say I did deliberately select this date…

  3. Since you mentioned Glocks, I thought I would share this bit of hilarity from our online gaming web page…

I ran across this about the All Mighty Combat Tupperware, and thought I was gonna shoot soda outta my nose…

    Question:

What would happen to a pistol like the Glock if it was submerged in a container of drano (Drain Cleaner)?

    Answer:

Since Drano is safe for plastic and metal pipes, I think it would only dissolve the hair clog in the barrel.

However, in just a few minutes a Glock fanboy will come by and post a link to a test where a Glock was put in a blender filled with Drano, sulfuric acid, Coca-Cola, pirahna, and 2 pounds of industrial diamonds. A CAT D8bulldozer was then dropped on it from 1000 feet. The owner picked up the Glock, chambered a 155mm HE round, hit a post-it note at 917 miles, and then proceeded to run 726,761 rounds of Wolf ammo coated with Gorilla Glue with no failures.

    Blitz Sez:

And yes, a Glock could do all of that. ‘cept instead of a post-it note, a dime and instead of dropping a bulldozer on it, you cement it to a train rail and run it over with a hundred and two car frieght train, carrying bulldozers. Then you weld the slide shut, feed it to a bull seal, and then when it, uh, reappears, shoot the dime.

Oh and before all of that you completly dissasemble it, and have it reassembled in China.

Mebbe it’s just me, but that’s some funny shit right there…

  4. LOL  LOL  LOL

Now THAT is funny! But .... it might be true. Hehehehe.

I’ve read similar bullshit on Glock gunsmithing sites. You’d think the damn thing was made out of industrial grade diamonds instead of plastic. I’ve already broken mine down, cleaned and oiled it and put it back together. In the process I saw a couple of things that could be easily broken if mistreated too badly.

  5. Most any weapon can be broken if mistreated.

I own both a M1911A1 and a Glock 19.  Both are fine pistols, but the Glock is somewhat more compact for “social occassions”.  The Glock’s sights are easier for my 57 year old eyes to acquire in a hurry.

The Glock is my favorite concaled carry pistol, but the M1911A1 is my favorite pistol.

Few of us are blessed to have two fine choices.

  6. I hear ya, MAJ Mike. I have the Glock 30, a Ruger 1911 (P245) and a Taurus 9mm. For in-close work. If they fail me, there’s an Ar-15 with a 30-round clip at hand. I love that little Glock 30 though. After breaking it in this last weekend it has officially replaced the Ruger as “home protection”.

Then there’s the collection of rifles and shotguns of various sizes in the safe ... just in case.

    LOL

  7. Nothing quite as satisfying as running a few clips through my 1911, unless it’s my High Standard Victor (a Connecticut original)!

    cool smile

  8. I love my 1911. My second fave is a Colt Trooper For the longer stuff, I’ll take my M1A (M-14 w/o full auto). the M-16 is good, but limited. Nothing says I don’t love you like the .308 unless maybe a 50BMG.
One of these days I’ll have to break down and get a Glock. My excuse will be going to a .40 or 10mm since I’ve got multiple .45s and 9mms.
