Daily Stupid, Part I

 

1. Why the Fuck wasn’t this the Policy When “I” was in School?
   Expelled?,Ya, gots me some extra vacation time bitches.
   This sort of thing actually happened to me but with a knife,in the first grade.Pops gave me this little folding knife,like the ones any self respecting kid had back in the day(1962) so of course I took it to school one day and although I forget how a teacher saw it, it was taken and sent to the office for safe keeping.Well, Pops was NOT Happy and the next morning took me with him to the Office to retrieve said knife. Ever see a Ex Marine get in someones Face when they were making a point about how Stupid they are? Yep, that’s what Pops did to the Principal and although I was only 6 I could tell someone had soiled themselves.
   Glad I could share that with my peeps here, geez I miss the old days sometimes.

2. My son when he was 6 or 7 was suspended for a day for using a stick as a gun, spoke to the priciple (huh why call someone without any principle???) I asked him if he played cowboys and indians at school and took his Lone Star 6 shooter to school he said yes so I asked why didnt he become a mass murderer?? he saw where I was going and said rules are rules so I told my son to quit antagonising the fools and as he is on their property go by their rules. I bet the bastard earns 3 times what I do and I bet I could do his job and Im damn sure he could not do mine (bodyshop tech )

3. Of course you could Chris. As long as you can learn to follow the party line and throw empty buzzwords around at the meetings, you too can pull down a 6 figure income.

   It amazes me how things used to be; my grammar school had 2 classes for each grade, K-5; we had 1 teacher per class, no assistants, we had 1 principal who had a secretary. We had no vice principal, but we did have 1 janitor, 1 gym teacher, and 3 full time lunch ladies in the cafeteria. A part time worker ran the tiny school library, and she was helped out by a large number of the kid’s moms volunteering a day here and there. Oh, and our classes had at least 20 students, sometimes as many as 35. Textbooks were used year after year, and students were financially responsible for turning the books in at year’s end in condition no worse than they were received.  And somehow we learned. For graphical aids we had one Kodak carousel slide projector, and 1 Bell & Howell 16mm movie projector. I think there was also a phonograph, one of those that was built into it’s own carrying case. The school had a mimeograph (remember sniffing fresh dittos in class, trying to get a rush?), but I never even saw an overhead projector until 7th grade. And somehow we learned.

4. Ooh, sounds like my school K-6.  I went there until 1976, and we had a bit more equipment, but I’m sure the staff numbered in the 20’s.  Dittos, oh man!  My sons’ elementary K-5 probably has at least three times the staff, and nothing like as many students.  Still much rather send them back in time to mine.

5. Wheres my Fucking Time Machine, I want out of this Bizarro World,NOW NOW NOW.
   I just realized that I will turn 60 years old in 2016 and the Oval Office Oreo will still be there. God,Make it Stop!!!!!
