  1. The crying is the chickafication of the World - remember we must ‘do something’ based solely on emotion and ‘good intentions’ - yet, for Boehner to be given the Speaker of House and cry - he is simply a crybaby. Typical liberal hypocrisy.

Two - look to the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) or Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking - and Honey (not sugar or sucralose) and Butter (not margarine) and Eggs (not ‘Egg Beaters - real eggs only better’ Yeah right) - are key ingredients.

As real ingredients - from nature are much better than a chemical cuisine.

It is the crap in the middle aisles of the grocery that is the problem - artificial flavors, preservatives, and artificial colors - not to mention the grinding down, up and out of skins, grains and most everything else - that turns real food into processed junk.

Eat as close to raw. And look to a fine cookbook or restaurant - they don’t use splenda or I can’t believe it’s not butter. For a reason.

  2. Wardmom ... funny thing about this.

    I can’t believe it’s not butter.

Well, I never thought it ever tasted like real butter. I tried it a long time ago and found that yeah ... I can believe it isn’t even close to butter.  But I can understand preservatives for things.

  3. Yeah - I’ll give you the preservatives - if they would just get rid of the other chemical crap.

I use to use margarine - before I really got into food. When I took the cooking course - my eyes (and taste buds) were opened to how really different and great the food tastes without all the other stuff in it.

Add to that all our allergies and food issues - it’s just easier to shop as clean as I can - which is what I do. But I do think that the process and additives are vastly different now than in the beginning of processed food.

I wish I could shop daily - we’d eat even better than we do now - but that’s down the road when one of gets a job.

My Mom never (and I mean never) ate margarine or ‘plastic’ cheese (as one of my sister-in-law calls it), processed food and thought exercise caused cancer - her cholesterol never went above 240 and she lived to be 93.

Even my Dad who was a cardiologist - didn’t get all twisted around the axle about cholesterol like the docs do now - I think it is just a way to get more people on meds - and of course all the additional appointments and tests.

What a slick way to drive up healthcare costs.

And European and Asian medical research still shows that it’s about 50-50 on those who die (and are autopsied) as to their cholesterol level in regards to their fatal heart attack.

So like so much of life - it’s just a crap shoot. I just like my food to taste better.

  4. While generally I like Gordon Ramsey I have to say his London resturaunt is a pretentious bloviated turd. I checked out the menu a while back and could not believe what New Yorkers were willing to pay for 2 pieces of asparagus on a piece of salmon the size of a Ritz cracker. He deserved to lose a star for that menu,Gack.
