1. Drew, if that’s a reference to the signs above the death camps, it should read I believe, “Work sets you free.” Arbeit macht frei

It is, but in a modern Obama context. “Preserving our individual liberties,” the President said, “ultimately requires collective action” ... the inside out, up-is-down, bizzaro world “logic” that commie rat used during his 2nd inauguration speech - that to follow the ideals of the founding father’s concepts of individual liberty would require collection action in this day and age. Freedom means groupthink/group work.

   So yes, since Muir made the Fascist to Nazi leap - “he made the ovens run on time” which is fantastic, implying where the next steps would lead on the road to tyranny and death - I made the next step too, and turned Obama’s words inside-out again: group work makes you free. Ok, my German is actually “collective activity” since I’m pretty sure “action” doesn’t translate the way I want it to. But damned if “arbeit macht frei” didn’t flash across my mind the very instant I heard that “liberty requires collective action” shit from Ocommie. Muir just framed it with more imagination and wit. And neither of us had to mention the hypothetical Camp Ayers we all read about 4 years ago.

3. Fascist, for folks who don’t know tons of history, because Italy during WWII was a fascist state (as was Spain under Franco), run by a puppet tyrant named Benito Mussolini. He was (sort of) affectionately known to Italians of his day as “Il Duce”: The Deuce, aka The Devil. He managed to get Italy running again after the post WWI slump, the gold fiasco, and the stock market crash; it was said of him, as an excuse to his vile and violent acts, that “at least he made the trains run on time”. This is leftist revisionism, because he didn’t even do that. As part of the Axis Powers, Mussolini was Hitler’s running dog. (The Axis was Germany, Italy, the Soviet Union at first, the Gypsy nations, and Japan. And Thailand and Iraq! Their enemies, the Allies, was us and the British Empire, China, plus whatever soldiers could escape the Nazi plague in France and Poland and run to England. Ok, we had a couple of other allies, even Brazil, who played rather small parts, smaller than that played by Italy when they switched sides halfway through, and FAR FAR smaller than the Soviet Union commies when they had sides switched on them 1/3 the way through.)

   As a form of extreme Socialism, Fascists are pretty bad, but Nazis are worse. So the progression of badness goes from S to F to N. And It goes from S to F to C; it is arguable whether Stalin’s Communists were worse than Hitler’s Nazis: both killed their own people by the millions, but “dear Uncle Joe” (as FDR, the OTHER communist leaning POTUS we’ve had called him) had many more years to do the killings, so he killed far more of his people than did Hitler.

   The Nazi death camps were gigantic killing machines. They were too big to bring in people on foot or by truck fast enough, so they were all on railroad lines.

   Ok, that’s all you need. Fascists: really bad. Nazis and Commies: really REALLY bad.

4. Il Duce just means “the leader”.  Deuce would be “due”, and devil is “diavolo”, unless there is some idiomatic meaning that has escaped me, and it would of needs be fleet of foot.

   Most of what you hear of him, as well as of Hitler, is indeed leftist revisionism.  Mussolini was in fact the editor of a couple of socialist newspapers prior to his rise to, um, fame.  It’s simply convenient to the leftists to be able to place the fascists and Nazis on the right, and for the longest time nobody saw fit to object.  First, it insulates them from having to admit a connection to themselves, but it also allows them to tie these phenomena to the “right”.

   They must at least be able to show violence as a philosophy of the right, and ideally sweep that of the left under the rug.  This makes their lies easier to swallow.  Just a spoon full of sugar…

5. If you read The 5000 Year Leap - it shows that control is anti-Right not a real conservative value. Just like if you completely understand the New Testament - it is about grace and free will (and a personal relationship with God, which undermines (to a degree) ‘the church’)

   True knowledge is freedom (Ye shall know the truth and the truth will set you free. John 8:32)

   It is what all _____ists (fill in the blank), tyrants, dictators and most of the crapweasels in DC fear the most - education, knowledge and freedom.

   Benjamin Franklin said it best:

   They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
