  1. He’s getting a Silver Star? WTF. Jean Fraud Kerry got a Silver Star for nothing. This man deserves at least the DSC, if not the CMH.

  2. MOH for sure.  It will come in time.  The SS is the best they could do at his unit level.
Greater love hath no man than this; that he would lay down his life for a friend. God bless his soul, and grant peace and healing to his family.

  3. This is an example of the true tragedy of war.  A superb example of manhood dies to protect the likes of Teddy Kennedy, John Murtha and the usual subjects.

We are unworthy of his sacrifice.

  4. This kid ... this man ... is a real hero. God bless him and his family.

  5. Read his obit this morning over at Blackfive after being linked there for a real eye opening letter [ROE - Rules of Engagement; further down the page]. Blackfive also has another obit.

These men are the among the 3220 special reasons (and 2,685,713 still active)to whom John Kerry, John Murtha, Max Clelland, Cindy Sheehan and all the other anti-war blathering crowd owe their freedom.

On the MOH, because the msm is so stupidly mum on these heros - they seem to be out of the norm, but the young men and women who are giving a lot or even all for their fellow soldiers is quite a number and it is sad that Americans rarely read these stories. I am so awed at the stories and the first one I heard - from the 101st in April of 2003 still tears at my heart. The majority of Americans do not know that SGT Troy Jenkins died April 24, 2003 from the same thing, covering a grenade to save his platoon and the Iraqi girl who handed it to him. . .It is one of the few things that makes me hopeful that America will survive. These astoundingly great and heroic young men and women.

Too bad the media can’t see them, understand them or at least report about them.

  6. The Medal Of Honor does indeed take time to work it’s way through the bureaucracy. They have to take depositions from his fellow troops about the incident and it has to be reviewed all the way up the chain of command.

I intend to write the President and recommend he receive the MOH. His family deserves no less than this as a remembrance of their son’s outstanding bravery under fire. I urge all of you to write the President.

    Thanks.

  10. How do I get the damned French flag off my post?  I’m an American in Virginia.

  11. Sorry, Lee. Your internet provider is doing some trickery with their DNS servers today. Tell Jacques Chirac “hello” from all of us.

    LOL
