1. Now the French are saying that they won’t send troops as long as Hezbollah has weapons, because they do not wish to be attacked, or have to enforce a ceasefire when Hezbollah is armed…

   The French are hilarious…

   Sure, we’ll send troops, but only on these conditions, and these conditions will be met when hell freezes over, so NEVER mind....

6. I knew that Resolution 1701 was going to be a joke the minute is passed.  I just didn’t know how BIG of a joke is was going to be.  The Lebanese Defense Minister and Lebanese Army are refusing to disband Hezbollah (one condition), the French are refusing to fight (another condition), and the U.N. is only sending a few thousand troops to begin instead of the whole contingent promised.  Yeah, I expected some part of this resolution to be broken, just not all the major parts of it within a few days of it being passed.

   So much for not returning to that ”stautus quo ante” that Condi was harping on a few weeks back when the notion of a cease fire was first being touted at the U.N.

7. The problem with the Bush White House is that they actually watch the News. 

   The News said those nasty Jews are bad guys killing doe-eyed Arabs and were making Bush & Co. look like a bad guy too, so they soiled themselves and rushed a cut-and-paste “ceasefire” through the UN to cover their asses with the News.

   If they had just realized that the News is wrong, they could have just relaxed and let Israel kick more Arab ass now instead of waiting for a couple weeks before they have to re-invade Lebanon.

   I haven’t watched the News for over ten years and I’m much happier and more intelligent than before.

8. Bat, the UN seems to be best at coordinating relief efforts and siphoning off American relief money. And complaining to the media that the US isn’t sending enough fast enough.
