  1. 2300 watt vacuums? Oh, that’s right, EUrope uses that deadly 220 volt electricity at the sockets.

Is there any way to compare motor power between 220 and 110? Sure, W=V*A, but the models you’re showing suck up TWICE as many watts as an American home vacuum. And honestly, what do you get for it? Not much. Show me double the suction water lift, double the CFM.

I’ve been researching top end vacuums for several years. The good models from Europe cost a lot, but really are far superior lifetime appliances compare to the throwaway American models. I’ve had my eye on the Sebo X line, but it looks like the Miele 7210 Twist performs better for a lower price. And Miele has 5 more models on that frame with all the expensive bells and whistles you could ever want. The 7210 cleans just as well, and instead of electric touch pads has manual controls that never break and save you hundreds.

Interesting how Miele prices stay the same here in the US vs UK, but Sebo tacks on an extra $150-200 for their machines here in the US. Greedy krauts.

  2. Buy a Rainbow if they are available in the UK. Uses a water filter, never clogs and can hold a few pounds of dirt in the tank before removal is required.
