  1. I would say more like JC Penney than Walmart Jay. They sell quality stuff, not old tat and Chinese crapola.

  2. Ah .... You’ve got it right. I was beating my head against a bad memory wall trying to think of another store but Wal-Mart came to mind as we used them also, in Calif.
Bought name brand underwear cheaper at WM than I could most other places.
    Not everything there is tat.
OK ... true. Too often the help doesn’t speak any English, Spanish being the official state language.
    Speaking of Chinese crap.

Back home in the USA we had these round metal things you could drop an egg in and fry it round kinda like MacD. They were sturdy things and I think when we moved here, we didn’t think about bringing them with us, or else they just got lost in the move. ??  Don’t really know.  But I have missed them on and off over the years.
So ... last month I tried Amazon, who seem to sell everything and I found a set. I should have been tipped off by the price. Cheap, cheap and postage already included in the price.

Turns out they arrived from China .... came in a small bubble wrap envelope, thin, thin, thin
and one was even bent outta shape. Something you could never do to the ones we used to have.
Also, razor sharp and I mean that literally.
They were so crappy ... I wrote in saying so and that I wouldn’t even bother asking for a refund but tossed them away.  Altho I didn’t expect it, they gave a refund anyway.
So here I am, still looking for a replacement for those darn heavy proper egg (molds?)

btw ... on our last trip back home two yrs ago, bought a couple of kitchen items and something I have not seen here cos I don’t think there’s be huge use for it.
A flat heavy frying pan for American pancakes. You can even put it in the oven if required.
Bought some Ca. type sheets too.

  3. egg rings? Izzat whachu want?

You can get nice ones, all teflon coated with tip up handles with oak knobs. Silicon ones these days too.

I do it the easy way, and just press a rocks glass rim through a slice of bread. Butter it a bit, butter side down in the pan, drop in an egg. And the “lid” goes in the toaster, or you fry it up alongside. Very similar to “gas house eggs”, but with a bigger hole.

    That reminds me, it’s lunchtime.
