Self defense is illegal in the EU. It’s a good thing too. We wouldn’t want such criminal scum to get the wrong idea. Besides I’m sure their “Rights” will trump those of the decent and innocent people they prey upon. Yes, we here in the US need to be more like the Europeans and stop trying to not be victims. “You Americans are soooo naive...”
We advise drivers to drive slowly at anyone blocking the road, giving the clear intention you do not want to be stopped.
I have travelled that road hundreds, if not thousands of times. At night you are literally dicing with death. On one side is a huge chemical/industrial site. On the other is a wasteland and then the beach where the illegals live in their makeshift camps. It has very poor lighting and the illegals frequently dash across it. Now and then they get run over. Boo hoo.
I suspect the advice above was issued by the Fwench police. The British police would have been more like “stop, give them all your money, bend over and let them ass ream you, give them the keys to your car. Whatever you do don’t try to argue with them.” etc. etc.
Peiper I am sure I have covered this in the past but I will try and be brief. Unfortunately the topic is a bit convoluted so it isn’t possible to cover it in one sentence. UK immigration in Dover and Ramsgate which were the two main ferry ports to the continent always had to deal with people trying to get into the UK illegally. Indians have done it for years stowing away in all sorts of places. We once found one wrapped across the radiator in one of those big old Mercs for example. But I digress.
The Conservatives under Major made a huge mistake by signing up to EU legislation called the Dublin agreement. Under this treaty if someone was found in a EU country they would in theory be returned to the country where they had entered Europe. Prior to this in Dover if an illegal immigrant was detected they would be put back on the boat to France. However once the treaty was signed it gave the Fwench a get out clause. They could refuse to accept the person unless UK immigration could prove that they had been in Europe. The only way that this can be done is if the person is intercepted and if the police who intercepted him/her actually took fingerprints. About the same time that this occured the was in Kosovo flared up and “refugees” travelled 500 miles across half a dozen frontiers to seek asylum in Britain. The legal profession could see a gold mine and latched on to this. Other groups such as the East European gypsies and Turks also saw a golden opportunity for a new life of luxury at the British taxpayer’s expense and so the floodgates opened.
Then in 1997 the scumbag Bliar and the socialists were voted into office. Soon after Bliar, who’s wife just happens to be a shyster specialising in “human rights” law. Introduced the Human Rights Act. Ostensibly this was to harmonise UK law with EU law. What it did in reality was to give all these illegal deadbeats and their ambulance chasing, bottom feeding, shyster scum lawyers another chance to stymie any successful removal.
By 2003 the UK was getting hundreds of illegal entrants every day and the morons that run UK borders decided to “move” the border. So at the cost of millions of pounds they set up border controls at Calais in France. What happens now is when they catch people they hand them over to the French police to deal with. The French have their own problems with human rights laws so they are not very good at removing people, but unlike in Britain they do not give these people a home and £50 a week to live on. They tell them to piss off with a notice to quit the territory. They hope that the deadbeats either get lucky and stow away on a truck or they get fed up and decide to head back to Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Eritrea etc. etc. ad nauseum Of course they don’t and now some of them are getting desperate.
The approach of trying to intimidate drivers into handing over cash will only last as long as they stick to Brits. The French don’t give a stuff about British drivers and actively target them with speed traps etc. however if these monkeys target a French driver there will be trouble. If that happens they will send in the CRS to start cracking heads so we shall see what happens.
The money spent on new technology is I suspect more bullshit spin from the Liebour party. The French port of Calais has a duty to search trucks but the shear scale of this makes it damn near impossible to do 100%. I think the problem could be solved but it would antagonise the Fwench. At the moment it is illegal in Fwance to scan vehicles with X-rays because the person being scanned has to give his or her permission. If I ran UK Plc I would set up X ray scanners in Dover and X-ray every single vehicle as it left the boat. Any vehicle with people on board would be turned around and sent straight back to France.
I would also remove legal aid and welfare from asylum seekers. You want to fight immigration do it on your own dime. Remove the right to appeal immigration decisions in the UK as well and while we are at it leave the EU......problem solved.Who would have thought that society would so easily give the power over to criminals - oh wait, that has happened here too.
I just hope (tee hee) that the megalomaniac with a nuke or two up his sleeve starts WWIII before the Thug Administration goes on its gun confiscation rampage - as I know we can defend ourselves and a few others - speaking of that I need to remind hubby to order more ammo.
So what exactly do the LEOs do in Europe? Write traffic tickets? They certainly do not serve and protect any more.
Sadly that is becoming more the truth here too.
